    Has anybody fitted a hot cam or a 250r cam in a 250L dual sport bike. I am told the jap import 250L has a softer cam in for emissions. I have contacted hot cams but they don't list the L version only the R. and not sure what year 250r cam will fit in my 2004 L. Thanks for any help

    I have a donor engine in my xr250, its from a jap import, engine number md17e. It doesn't have an oil cooler. It is quite noisy from the top end, valve clearance are all ok, I've checked them as per manual. What else could cause the noise, cam chain? Camshaft bearings? Or are these engines just...

    I have just ordered a diddy headlight for it, the loom is pretty much sorted and if I can get the existing speedo to work properly, I will only need a small idiot light box rather than a new speedo that has them integrally fitted. Then it is getting painted black with the legend "sumo" on it...

    Dealers are forever asking for the vin when ordering parts!!!!!! as far as i have managed to work out there are very little differances, even less with a US model. apart from the lights/clocks i see nothing more differant... Whats all the fuss about imports being so :cheers:different...
