For those amongst you that like to have a tinker in the workshop over the cold winter months, how about making a lamp like this one I found on the interweb.
As soon as I get a bit of spare cash, I think I will make a pair of them for myself and jnr as I have some old pistons lying around.;););)...
I'm busy gathering the last few bits for the restoration of rd03. I'm in need of the indicator and pilot lamp relays. New prices are just too high!
It's the two pin indicator relay and the 4pin (red connector) pilot lamp relay. There is also a 3pin red connector relay but I need the 4pin...

is a bulb change as simple as pop the screen off, undo four bolts and remove the front fairing, or is it remove the side panel and dislocate your wrist to do it? Mr Haynes is blody useless o this...
Nothing about the SLR/FX phases me mechanically, except the first time I remove the cam cap bolts at the front of the head on a bike that's new to me.
There are four with an 8mm head and one with a 10mm head, the bottom of the threads is exposed to all the crap thrown up from the front wheel...
I've got a US Transalp with Africa Twin parts on it. I'm pretty sure the headlights came from an RD04 or RD07. I think these are Euro-spec headlights. Here's what's on each lens:
Right: Stanley D01-1981 (02083R20).
Left: Stanley 5900 (0240R20), has a "city light" mini bulb in it...
Two days after moving to Swansea my bike was stolen.
Chained to a lamp post, disc locked and covered stolen in the space of five minutes at 7.30am. Covers and locks dumped in the street.
It was the 'lovely' Bennetton jobbie in blue.
I cant post pics as my internet connection is so useless.
Hi, the front scoops on my bike are currently odd. 1 is blocked off, the other is open.
How is it supposed to be ?
by scoops i mean the cut aways under the front lamp on my 1996 Transalp.
Could I fit spotlights in there without fear of disrupting airflow ?
Is it possible?
I have these (below) fitted, they are 1200 lumens and appear brighter than the standard head lamp on my 700.
The question is, is there a replacement LED headlamp bulb for the 700?
I've seen a few advertised but am not brave enough to order one that may not be good enough...
HELP!!!
I am due to have an MOT on the RD03 on Friday. I am checking the bike and noticed that both the main headlight bulbs only go on when they are on full beam. On parking and dipped beam just the little bulb on the left lamp glows.
I took both the...

Mine are all over the shop, the left one miles to high and the right miles too low.
I have managed to get them both pointing to the front rather than randomly, using the small bolts on the sides.
Vertical adjustment. Mr Haynes says to use the small wingnuts for this, the one on the right does...
Hi all. Having some time away with the misses and her bloody bike is playing up. Stalling at junctions etc so nothing to bad.
Anyway we're getting code 29, 2 long flashes and 9 short from the fi lamp.
Anyone know the codes?
A new (at least to me) Vision X Solo Pod Mini using LED's
Not that expensive either. I think they are not that good at throwing light on the road, but they should work wonders for making yourself seen by the cardrivers.
There are three models
XIL-MX110 with 10° spread,
.............. That if the neutral lamp on the dash lights up between gears or when stood still - but only with the clutch lever pulled in that its the clutch switch under the lever...............
Anyone stripped one to 'fix' it?..............
On the German E-bay site somebody is selling a lam protection (art. numb.: 110351545968).
The seller says, it is for AT built in 1995. I am looking for something like this for my AT RD04. Would anybody know if it would fit - without any additional modifications?
