hi i usually ride motocross but wanting to get into green laning or trail riding, is there anywhere in the lakes, north yorkshire or lancashire good to ride where you dont need a licence or road legal bike to ride ?

I had an invite from Wigan Chris to join him on a ride around his local patch, So set off on Sunday at 7:10 to make the arranged rendevous at Chris's house around 9:00. The ride up there from Ibstock consisted of a bit of M42 and then M6 for all but about 3 miles......Not the most inspiring...
