hello! I have a 43 liters Touratech fuel tank, but I have a problem. Even if I only have 20 liters inside and if I ride off road or shake the bike, a considerable amount of fuel gets out through the overflow line. Anyone with the same problem or it´s only a problem of my tank? thanks...

Since the leaking Tool Tube (see my post "Tool Tube trouble") it was time to find another solution ,first a way to attach the fuel bottle 100% vertical and secondly been able to carry more spare fuel. Worth mentioning ,after a mail to the Tool Tube seller with the necessary explanations about...

Hi All, Here are some comments on my new purchase a 2007 650 Transalp. I have a few general questions at the bottom if anyone can enlighten me! This is my second @ 98. The bike is 28,000 km or so claims the former owner. The bike's original exhaust tube was a FUBAR so he had a local exhaust manufacturer built one mymicking the originals outline. So I fixed the new one on it. A few days back and I ran out of gas and filled...

Hello, earthlings! Preparing my bike for next spring's trip to Morocco I decided to get a larger tank. Since I've got more time than money,I decided to reshape and old dented tank I had in a dark dusty (but dry) garage. I'm still not sure how this will end up but still, I'm stubborn enough...

Hi there, it's been about 2 months from the moment I eventually decided to make my own panniers for my TA, since none of the existing ones suited my requirements (they're bloody expensive!), besides, I love to make things and to recycle existing objects to give them a second life. I reckon that...

Hello Colleagues, Have a high milage RD04 which seems to run like a new machine. The fuel consumption is 5 liters/100 kms and not burning oil. High and even compression between the cylinders. However I have noted that there is a small leak of oil from one of the spark plug holes (rear...

Hi bike-tech-maniacs! As I'm building my own chainoiler, following some ideas borrowed from Shackleton's unit (smart use of tropical acuarium bits :)!), I wanted to raise this question so everybody could give their opinion: Would it be good (in terms of lubricating) to use used engine oil to...

The last thing possible in my mind was to actually visit South-Africa this year and to top it off also get the old R80GS aptly named Die Walvis (The Whale) in Namibia last year due to it's uncanny ability to drop in the sand and lay there like a big beached whale. Allow me to illustrate To...

Thursday had a text from a mate, Steve, to se if I fancied a ride out to find some green lanes. Looked a good day so we met up at Ringwood. After a burger at a road side van(very yummy) we went to find a prospective trail he'd seen over Salisbury way. Found the said trail and followed it along...
