Ok ,it's the middle of winter and before I go into a freekin' coma with this freeze-up. I though this might generate a bit of heat !!

I've had my 700 Alp for about 3 years now and have really grown to love it. One problem I've had though is that at high speed, 95 mph + the steering would get very light, especially whilst carrying camping equipment and a full top box. Whoever had the bike previously had dropped the forks about...

Hi guys as the good weather is just round the next snowy corner and time to play will be upon us in no time, I’m thinking of trying to make some improvements
I’m not planning a full fork swap for KTM stuff, but I find the front a bit soft, most of my riding will be on tarmac, and around...
Hi all, i have been looking at getting some crash bars fitted to my XL650 v Transalp but was hoping for some advice as to what make or type to get.
I have managed to find the following two makes which seem to offer good protection to the upper parts of the bike ( the expensive bits )
For those amongst you that like to have a tinker in the workshop over the cold winter months, how about making a lamp like this one I found on the interweb.
As soon as I get a bit of spare cash, I think I will make a pair of them for myself and jnr as I have some old pistons lying around.;););)...

Having had the piston disintegrate into the engine on my 2004 XR400 I am now looking at a fairly major rebuild. I am ok with that but I was wondering if all the XR400 engines are the same? It certainly would make finding all the parts easier.
At this time I need a new barrel, 4 valves...
As the title states, is there a chance to adapt the different bits in/around the carburetors from a later model Africa Twin (RD07/a, which are noticeably less thirsty) to an earlier RD03, in order to make it a bit more fuel efficient?
I'm not fully aware of their design/layout differences, so...

Building a 20mm box bender.
Hi guys, I am in the process of building a flat tracker from a Varadero frame.
I'll post a thread up when I get a chance, but here's a picture of the project.
At the moment though I need some 20mm box section bending so I can fabricate a rear subframe.
There’s a small amount of storage space under the pillion seat but access requires a spanner to remove two 10 mm screws.
This spanner is in the toolbox by the battery which in turn needs the Allen key under the rider seat.
To make the pillion seat quicker to remove there are two easy...
I have a rim from Hornet that fits Varadero as "plug & play", with matching brake disc 5 mm thick, I put original 150 mm rear wheel back on my bike so this is now surplus to requirements.
Also set of Metzeler Karoo 3 tyres with around 650 miles on them, for adventerous Vara riders.

200 x 100 overall with long edges folded back 22.5 degrees.
Mounting holes are clearance for M6. Made from Stainless Steel with brushed polish finish.
Stand off bushed will be needed but suggest using oversize nut or similar.
