My CRF1000L is now out of warranty so kicking dealer servicing into touch :p
Having just clocked 16000 miles a valve check was due (££££££££).

a fantastic service manual from Marks Motorcycle...
I'm new to the XL, I have what I thought is a 1989 XL250R, when I've searched the internet the R model seems to have stopped production in 1987 and was replaced with the NX250, can anyone confirm this.
I have bought an FMX.
Currently I have more important problems solve with it, but in future I would like to at least upgrade exhaust + carb jet + air filter.
I have done exhaust manual rework for my suzuki gs500 in past. I just cut off old can and welded new straight can onto it. Also...
1 x Africa Twin XRV & Transalp Haynes Manuals
Hi guys & gals, As I have now sold my last XRV I have two spare Haynes manuals, 1 is almost as new and the other has been used but no damage. £15 each including postage to the UK (cheaper than any on ebay etc)
I had an intermittent fault with my 700 for months now. Sometimes it would't start and then sometimes engine would cut out when handlebars were turned to the right. Yesterday I decided to have a proper look and after looking for frayed wires or something out of ordinary I pulled on...
Sorry if this has already been discussed.
I need to fit new front and rear tyres on my '88 Transalp. The Honda Manual says the rear tyres should be 120/90-17 on the rear and 90/90-21 on the front. However, most of the sites I've looked at for buying new tyres seem to think I should get...

Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding both front and rear wheels on my 1998 RD08, problem is I've only got the 88-89 manual.
According to this manual the front wheel offset is given as 22.25mm from the disk to the rim, this is probably ok for my '98 as nothing much changed from the RD02 model on...

Well, I’m back! First post for over two years.
Been away from Honda, big mistake. Let me just say that Transalps are superb.
Oh, a pain to work on the engine but..... :D
Picked up Suki yesterday, a new to me 09 plate. Ahhhh, lovely ride.
Anyway, back to tech...
The rear brake pedal is 8 feet...
John Haynes creator of the Haynes Manual has passed away at 80. Thankyou and your tech writers...don't think I could of split my AT cases without you.
I'm taking delivery of a new 2018 Africa Twin Adventure Sport this afternoon but I won't be getting the owners manual until later next week. Do you know where to get an electronic copy of the owners manual and also how do you run-in the engine on the new bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've quite a bit of work to do this year on my '91 RD04 and I'm wondering where's the best place to buy a workshop manual?
I've seen some for crazy money on eBay...
Anywhere else I should be looking?
Thanks in advance,

Hi there;couple of things (1) I'm changing the fork oil in my 99 FX650 Vigor. The tech data gives the quantity and level but no recommendation for the grade of oil. The bike is only used on the street, so any suggestions please? (2) Bit of a long shot this, but would anybody have an actual...
To improve starting, I'd like to take the carb back to the original (UK) settings.
I have a manual showing Main Jet 142 and Slow Jet 52. However, the manual appears to be for USA models.
Would UK models have been fitted with the same jets?
