It was a nice feeling too get a pass without any advisories today after I did a part rebuild last year with limited mechanical knowledge, thanks to everyone who pitched in with help when I needed it. The guy was gushing over my bike, gave me a warm feeling of pride :D

Looking to upgrade the standard horn with something that grabs one's attention a little better. Any suggestions, preferably without major mechanical or electrical work. Thanks

Something not right. Have checked fuel pump is working and fuel is all OK. Balanced the carbs very recently so should not be that. Feels mechanical rather than fuel. Engine was rebuilt 6,000 miles ago so what might need checking and adjusting?

  5. Engine whine on closed throttle ??

    Transalp
Only looking for reassurance really. Just got a 2005 TA, and there seems to be a bit of a mechanical ' whine ' on closed throttle/engine braking. Pretty sure it's normal, but my last bike was loud and I never heard all the engine noises, so didn't worry. Cheers in advance peeps !!

  7. Mechanical help needed!

    Transalp
Hi, I've been trying to fit a staintune pipe to my 'alp and boy oh boy.... anyway, the basic problem seems to be that there's a bit too much pipe coming out of the collector box. This means that the holes won't line up properly,so.... I'm tempted to cut a bit of the pipe from the cat off...
