We have just upgraded our helmets and I’m in the process of fitting the autocom system, I have just realised that the intercom we have must be about 15 years old and connects with the curly leads, the unit is hard wired so no recharging batteries. So what advantage with the latest systems , I...
Hi guys. My xr250 is set up for expedition use. It doesn't use a battery. I'm looking into satnav gps options. The problem being I can't power anything from the bike.
I have a small garmin bike unit which will last around 6 hours then need 8 hour charge. Not ideal was thinking of a solar unit...
Been doing a bit of research but no luck as yet, looking for an accessory bar for the 650 TA. Specifically a high bar above the instrument cluster, behind the (tall/touring) windscreen. Keep the sat nav higher up in view.
Does anyone know of anyone who has made one/seen one/bought one...
Wondering around Tesco like a zombie as usual, I stumbled on this - Garmin Drive 50 LMT Travel Edition with Worldwide maps at £85. I know it wont be water proof and fiddly to use perhaps, but at £85 its a shed load cheaper than a bike Nav?:thumbright:
Anyone tried this out? Perhaps in...
Any tips please on how / where to mount a Garmin sat nav mount on my Dommie? On my other bikes I have used Telferizer bits to attach to either a clip-on bolt-hole or the hole in the top of the steering stem. Neither is an option on the Dommie.
I'm thinking of mounting on the bars somehow /...
I've finally succumbed to a sat nav and am looking at how to wire it into my trusty Transalp (XL700VA).
I'm sure that somewhere on this forum I've seen that there is a spare connector block in the front cowl that can be used as a power source - but can't for the life of me find it now!
The thin mounting bar on the new AT (above clocks) for the sat nav / phone is proving awkward :( I cant find a mount that grips the 4.5cm circumference bar - theres plenty around for handlebar thickness, but cant seem to find much to accommodate a thinner bar.
Anyone solved this one...
I'm new to this forum and wonder if anyone can help me with this.
Went to start the bike yesterday, so I turn the key, it goes through it's self test thing, then I hear a quiet electrical sort of thud, then nothing. No display, nothing.
I've tried disconnecting the battery then...
Does anyone know of a cockpit frame ( for want of a better description ) that will enable mounting the satnav above the clocks behind the screen. Have had a look on t'internet cant seem to find anything for a 700 Alp.
Thanks in advance,
For many years I have used AutoRoute for route planning, saving, sat nav, and the ability to transfer the saved route to my Garmin. My current version is 2010 and I thought I'd treat myself to a 2016 version only to find that it was discontinued in 2013. Microsoft suggest using Bing maps, which...
My other half bought me a camera for xmas but to be honest i didn't really need one so she returned it for a refund and i quite fancy a bike Sat Nav instead.I've been looking at the TomTom Rider V5,TomTom Rider 400 and the Garmin Zumo 660,has anyone got any of these or what others would you guys...
Has anyone tried these gaskets out yet , if so what was the verdict.
They look as though they will last longer than those silly graphite jokes.

I might be taking part in an off road (not extreme!) nav challenge wing-ding in a few weeks and gps not allowed. I could just follow my mate juan like i did last time or i could help with the nav. I found an old thread on here about home made roadbooks but wondered if the diy technology has...
