well, my dominator started knocking when it heats up.
some 2min. after startup.
i think that the needle bearing between the crank and conrod is f**ked
is it possible to replace only the needle bearing and if so what is the part number?
I'm struggling (failing) to find throttle slides for RD04 anywhere, anyone know. Do i have to search for it using any particular measurements? not finding anything when searching for slides for RD04!? does the RD07's fit?
Also looking for a main jet needle.
Appreciate the help
Where can I purchase two main needle jets (the long needles attached to the carb slide)? I know the part number but am unable to find anyone stocking this item.
Addition to this post- I found that Rugged Roads stock the items (stocked as "Fuel Needles"..!!!) . However they have two part numbers...
On the 600 transalp it says on the rev counter
X 1000/min - 1
I.e. To the power of minus 1
Why does it say that?
Surely it should just say x 1000/min? Ie when the needle is at 4, that means the engine is doing 4000 revs per minute
If you raise the revs or the minutes to the power of...

I have been scouring the net to find a carb needle and jets to set up a Keihin FCR 41 carb I found on ebay.
Allens dont have the needle and the only places I could find one is in the states which will take forever to get here.
I found one in Holland but they want €40 for it.:mad::mad:
I've now had my first short ride on the SLR and enjoyed it very much. It's so much lighter, narrower and more chuckable than the Strom.
However, having EFI on my last 2 bikes has spoiled me a little. The SLR has a stumble just coming off idle which is a bit annoying. It feels as though it's a...
I've a non working speedo and replaced both the cable and the white plastic gear, as mine was worn, but still no action.
Had a look at all the other threads but little about what could be faulty on the clocks end if it is that. The needle appears to be fine that screws into the back of the...
Recently put new needles into carbs in the hope of resolving a flooding and leak issue on the left carb of my RD07. Didn't work, carb still leaks:sad11:. Is there any (other) way to try get the needle to seat without leaking? I'm dubious about trying anything abrasive.
The speedometer needle on my RD07A starts flickering from around 40mph ( quite smooth up to then ) and is most pronounced at just beyond 60 mph (nothing excessive but noticeable). I was wondering is this normal or is there something causing it ?
Thanks for any advice
Can anyone confirm what the default Honda OEM fitted carb needles model type are for a RD07A model year 2001?
On my bike I have carb needles that are marked as J3WB in both carbs but when I look at the pdf file parts breakdown the needle kits are different part numbers for front and...
I'm in the process of renewing one of the bearings in the suspension linkage of my 2002 RD07A as it was a MoT failure. But I was wondering if it was possible to convert the loose needle bearings to sealed caged bearings.
Has anyone done this? Is it worthwhile? What are the benefits?
Has anyone any info on covering a part of the radiator to get it up to normal temps? The needle doesnt move at all and you can easily touch the radiator and its hardly warm at all.
Mr Honda san doesnt mention it at all but he designed that bike for a toasty desert.:)
just one more tip, I have recently bought all the bearings for the rear linkage, the collars, as honda describe them, I got from Dave silver and the needle bearings were from Marksman bearings, much cheaper then going to Honda. more info on request.Steve.
Can anybody tell me what the sizes are on the original needles in the carbs.
I have a J83A(back cylinder) and looks like 9T18(front cylinder).
The 18 can be a I8 or l8, cannot see all that clear even with magnifying glass.
