The output shaft oil seal is leaking like a leaky thing and it's embarassing to
park next to a Matchless or AJS and leave a bigger pool of oil than they do!
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace this seal without taking the engine
HI, I SEEM TO HAVE AN OIL LEAK FROM MY GEAR LEVER OIL SEAL ON A 97 XR 400, NOT 100% BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT CAN BE DONE FROM THE OUTSIDE ONCE THE GEAR LEVER HAS BEEN REMOVED, PLEASE TELL ME IT CAN !!!
Are there any issues regarding the use of ultra sonic cleaning to remove the crud from around the dust and oil seal recessess?
I have access to one and thought it would get it nice and clean the easy way, but I dont want to damage the caliper.
Can anyone tell me if my final drive oil seal, the splined drive coming out of the gearbox where the front sprocket is mounted -- can be replaced from the outside or do i have to open up the gearbox?
Rossa in west cork.
Anyone got a spare laying about - OR, do you know the dimensions of it - OR if any other models use the same seal?
Its the seal that fits to the clutch actuator arm, just inside the l/hand casing, to stop the oil pissing out :(
Now I'm talking cars not bikes here, I've got a slight leak on what I'm thinking is a crank case oil seal.
I'm looking for the easiest (and def the cheapest) fix possible.
It's not a massive leak, more a weep that has collected over the months/years and gone unoticed by previous owner.

I made a mistake ordering seals for my TDR suspension link and now have 16 of 18x24x6mm KC NBR Oil Seal (brand new unused) going spare if anyone needs em, they where too thick i needed 4 mm thick ones and these would have stuck out too far for the supension to work without wrecking them .
I've been trying to clean and grease the suspension linkage and swingarm today.
-At the left hand side of the swingarm there are 2 ball bearings and one needle bearing. The ball bearing oil seal is easy to take out. The needle bearing dust seal looked fine so I didn't take it out. (dust seals...
I need to bang some new fork oil seals on my SLR 650.
Getting them isn't a problem, but I can't find how much oil needs to go in the forks when I service them. I've had a scan for a work shop manual, but haven't found one yet.
Anyone got the necessary info ?
We've had lots of snow and I can't...
