Guess the title says it all; have you Alp owners tried the TET North (Tynemouth to the Lakes area, via Hexham, Alston etc.) Wondering if it's a little too much for the Alp?
Eveyone is telling me a CRF250L or Rally // WR250 is the better choice!

Afternoon. My first post here.
Just acquired a scruffy 2002 Transalp 650. However, all seems reasonably sound with history etc.
However, clutch seems very heavy, even with new cable. Before I dismantle, any thoughts please?
Perhaps just bunged up with crud from the past 36,000 miles?
Please would somebody tell me if the four silver fixings you can see that hold the wind shield to the headlamp cowl are the correct ones for a 1999 XL600V?
Please see pictures.
They came with the bike when I bought it new but seem too big and shiny?
I have these two. Free to collect from North London, or £10 posted
they fit a 650 Transalp, and maybe a 600/700 too? (i'm not sure)
- standard 48 tooth rear sprocket

Bit of a strange ask but here goes. Anyone any ideas on how to clean off oil (might be ACF50) that I spilt on the standard seat? Got a couple of marks. Tried hot soapy water. Also some bike cleaner but the stains are still there on the rough bit of the saddle. Did not want to be too aggressive...

I have recently purchased a 1984 XLX250R & on my first ride today I am unsure if the speedo or tacho are reading correctly
at 80klmh the tacho reads around 7k it seems to be quite high
the gearing is 14--40 & I read std gearing is 13--38 which is not too far away
can someone give me an idea of...
At Moretonhampstead Motor Museum last week. The old Isetta brought back memories, too - I had one as a sixteen year old.
If you're down Dartmoor-way, the museum's well worth a visit, particularly if, like me, you grew up in the 60s: many/most of the bikes and cars displayed are everyday...

So, last time I had the carb apart I put in a 55 slow jet
As it turns out or seems atm a 55 is a little too much.
Seems to run ok but tickover still a bit erratic
Anyway, see if you can answer this
If I leave it ticking over and then switch off the fuel, it seems to smooth out and the tickover...
