Can anyone tell me if the RD04 and RD07 brake callipers are identical?, I'd like to use genuine Honda seals, pistons and pins when refurbing my RD04 brakes but David silver doesn't list anything pre 1993 :thumbup:

What's the best chain riveting tool available to use and which is not so costly? There are quite a few on ebay and want to know which design is best to flare the pins.

If anyone has any thoughts on using red brake grease for caliper slider pins, I have always used copper grease in the past but it seems to go all sticky after a while plus I have been told it is not good for the rubber sleeves. Any advice, comments, abuse etc? :icon_smile:

I've just replaced my sprockets and chain and the chain was too long (a Honda DID 525 V8)
Ordered a replacement link from Wemoto (525 VX stamped on it).
Removed extra link from chain this lunchtime and b**ger me if the replacement link didn't fit the chain - the pins were fatter.
I was looking for a miniature pin showing an AFrica Twin (RD07A), and I did not find very much.

Just had the front end in bits to fix the speedo drive and replace gaitors.
Thought I'd check the brakes as i suspect one of the pistons may be seized....
I cannot for the life of me undo the bloody screws holding the pins in although the pads are fairly new so it's not...
Today I took the opportunity to remove and grease the caliper pins on my AT for the first time. Given all the tales of seized pins and pin 'plugs' I was expecting a long, protracted job.
Not so. All cleaned, greased and replaced inside 20 minutes. Feeling lucky! :headbang:
