In the process of replacing front sprocket and wondering if there should be shims behind sprocket so that there is no slack when putting locking plate on? There is some play in and out once it is on. No spline wear and it is snug when moving back and forth. My KLR650 has the same type of setup...
Do they fit over the existing plastic protection for radiator or do I remove them? Just curious before I start putting them on tomorrow. I have a set of aluminum guards handy but I was going to ship them to the states for my RD03. I'll keep them here if they are needed. Thanks

I've taken off swing arm and linkage + rear shock, all nicely painted and putting it back together now.
Issue I have is it seems the bike has shrunk or the shock has grown - I'm about 2in out at the bottom. Original shock and parts all being reused.

Just putting the clutch basket back together, and I have 7 friction plates in total. When I put it all together and tighten down the spring plate though, the plates move about freely. I would have expected the plates to be held in place by the pressure plate, until the push rod presses...
