We have just upgraded our helmets and I’m in the process of fitting the autocom system, I have just realised that the intercom we have must be about 15 years old and connects with the curly leads, the unit is hard wired so no recharging batteries. So what advantage with the latest systems , I...
I have a spare transalp 600 engine cluttering up my garage

I'm rebuilding this rd04 and want it to be a bike I can use a lot and be reliable so I'd like to address areas which might cause a problem now it's got new chain and sprockets.its had a new rectifier when last used a new battery and I'm looking at a facet or new points for the fuel pump.
I've heard about the fuel pump issues and was wondering if it's worth changing to a facet or just getting a points repair kit. I'm current rebuilding my rd04 and want it to be reliable when finished. The pump was working fine when the bike last run.
I'm looking to buy a new shock for my RD07 (My one is knackered). Nothing fancy or racey, just looking for something durable and reliable.

from what i can see the silver engined ones don't seem to age as well, they often seem tarnished/corroded
apart from that, is there any difference in the engine itself? are the...
Looks like its time to change the chain on the 700 Alp. Sprockets look ok so just the chain needed. I've not got a riveting tool so is there a chain that I can buy that uses the old split link method that is reliable?

My 1979 XL250s is causing me a bit of a problem in that its unreliable because I have stripped the carb twice and used a service kit for needle, jets and gaskets, but after setting it up to the book and as best I know how, tick over varies so much and at times makes it difficult to control or...

Keyless ignition, how to do it . . .
Thought I'd offer an idea that I've used on my dommie for the last year and I really like it. Keyless RFID ignition. It cost me less than £50 to do and has been utterly reliable in daily use. After losing my key, I decided to ditch the key operated ignition...

So I bought a new inner tube for my rear -- the LBS assured and reassured me it would be good for my 140 tires, even though the package said 4.5-4.75 (Chen Shing). However after prying the old megastiff tubeless K60 from and preparing for mounting the new ultrastiffer K60 I noticed the tube had...
