Anyone taken the oil strainer out of the bottom of their frame?
Tried removing it yesterday, so i could check it, and get frame ready for powder coat, but could not get it to undo.
Tried interlocking two spanners to get a higher torque, but still no joy.
Any tips on removal???

Hi all, after about 2 hours in the garage fighting with it I still cant get the engine out of the frame. Has anyone got any tips/ photos or video of engine removal,surly it can't be so hard? And if i'm having this much trouble getting it out how do I get it back in?????

Hello everyone,
I'm having a difficult time removing my 350's engine. I've followed the manual and have removed everything and I've even removed all the engine mounts. However, when I try to remove the lower left engine bolt it doesn't have enough room to come out before it hits the frame...
I want to change the handlebars on my xl700 as the bend on the standard bars does not suit me.
the throttle side is easy as it comes of with the tube.the clutch side has to come off to remove the clutch perch.

I'm getting some pannier frames powder coated for my new CRF1000L so thought I'd give the RD03 back end a limited refurb.
Main aim it to stop the rot of the rear subframe.
Couple of non-standard plates on the rear rack for the GIVI top box and exhaust bracket need removal/replacement.
I need to change my carb float needle as its leaking, is it possible to remove the bowl to get access or must I remove complete carb from bike which is a bit of a PITA

The instructions for the Hyperpro progressive springs install are a little surprising to me as anyone I've seen install progressive springs on YouTube doesn't remove the forks. They do this simple remove the cap...drop in the spring deal...
Is removal really necessary?

Time to change the air filter.....so the tank has to come off. Does the tank need to be completely drained of fuel? Should it be syphoned? Or can it be drained from the pet cock? OR, can some fuel stay in the tank or will it leak out when I remove the lines?
