I'm thinking of making a homemade fender extender for my Varadero. It seems if the front flap was about 10cm longer it would protect the engine from all salt, dirt etc splashes. Has anyone done this and how did you do it?

Going to do one project but have had both bikes for 8 year and don't know which one to spend the money on. They both look rougher than they do on the photographs and the Africa Twin is more rough than the Dominator, both are used all-year round and both are salt damaged. What is an average spend...

If you can see from this image, can anyone tell if I have an issue? i've heard cat litter can be used instead of rock salt. i have 2 posssible theories on how it works :- 1 it simply adds more grip to the slippy stuff. 2 it encourages all the local cats to p##s on it so melting the slippy stuff. if you have any more ideas please comment.

I was out yesterday morning and would you believe the A96 between Elgin and Forres, and a part of the Grantown - Forres road had been salted! I know the weather forecast said it was going to be near zero but come on, that's a bit on the early side isn't it?

What are the recommendations for dealing with the fecking salt. I can literally watch my bikes dissolve in this weather! It isn't an option really to wash my bike down after every run as I use it every day. Any other suggestions?
