I am thinking of setting up a small busines, motor cycle breakers. This is because i am fed up with the rip of buggers that do it at the moment, charging the earth for clapped out parts. I broke a few bike years ago, and made some money without being a greedy sod. So i am thinking of starting...
  2. Africa Twin
Anyone ever rebuild an Africa Twin...twice? I've been pondering. The problem with having it as a daily ride means keeping everything shiny, polished, and pampered just isn't an option. Nearly £500 of wheels are now tarnished/pitted to the point of needing powder coating to look good again...

Does anybody know when a helmet is past it's best ? I would assume that all helmets differ, but is there an average time when you should consider scrapping it for a new one ?? Don't mean for looks or anything - just from a safety aspect

I'm having a right old headache with my cam chains on this 1979 xl250s, as in this thread, http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/bike-tech/33110-has-anyone-ever-changed-their-cam-chain.html#post335376 After dropping a valve, I did a topend rebuild, and I suspect this may have been due to a...

Darling will offer £2,000 reward to scrap old cars - Times Online Shame they probably won't do the same for bikes. I'm not sure how this ties into their supposedly green credentials though - seems an awful waste scrapping so many old cars. On the other hand if you've got an old banger and are...

Hi all, This is actually Mr P, who has offered to help a friend out with a top end failure of his 1996? XR250S. Here's the brief story, This bike may have been used for trail riding, but is now used on-road by a sensible mature rider. The engine oil was regularly changed, the oil level was...

Ok since my heated grips got torn off in accident thinking of scrapping them and fitting spotlights. Only problem is do they need separate wireing or can they somhow be attached to the main beam function?

Recently had my bike go through it's 12,000 mile service ... I was a bit concerned because my front brake had started to make this scrapping noise whenever I applied the front brake. Was assured by the people doing the service that the problem was down to some grit getting into the pads and...
