I was thinking of finding an used shock absorber that fits in the frame and linkage of the transalp 600, an rebuild it.
It's annoying that the stock damper it's not serviceable, as in change the oil like on the front forks. after some use the oil inside it's just water and I don't agree to pay...

I have just had a test ride on a TA700 as I was thinking of getting a more modern version (2010 TA700) to replace my 2003 TA650. The test bike and my 650 had done very similar mileages ~13000 miles.
My riding is alot of country roads and lanes, occasional gravel tracks, nothing more difficult...

The Honda OEM Standard Showa shock – has an 85 nm spring rate, 80mm travel on the piston ( I have been using 55mm of this), no adjustments apart from spring preload for ride height adjustment. The spring rate on any spring remains the same when compressed or unloaded

So, continuing the saga started by the rusted silencer, I removed the exhaust (what a faff that was!) so that I could then remove the swingarm and finally get some room the change the shock.

I am selling the following that have come off Rd07's I have owned in the past-I do believe that the cycle parts will fit 07a also.
