I am in the middle of deciding whether to replace an output shaft on the AT, XRV750 - 2002.
Can anyone give me a list of the parts I need to order, gaskets etc to do this job? - gonna use the VT750 shaft.
Also is there anything else worth doing whilst I have the engine in pieces?
Sorry to bore you guys with this but I would appreciate your input.
I have aquired a 52 plate, September 2002, AT 750 with 60,000 miles on the clock and a buggered output shaft.
I have read most of the threads regarding this topic and seen the posts and pictures of the Spendler sprocket and the...
Im new the forum and require urgent help.
I need to source a crankshaft for my XRV750 as far as I know the RD04 and the RD07 uses the same Crank is this correct.
For some unknown reason mine broke 3 teeth on the Timing Gear.
Im leaving a a long distance tour in 3 weeks and just my...
My 04 650 alp has clocked 31,400 miles from new and is still on the original chain and sprockets, I know the green zone wear indicator will only be a guide to chain life but in the five mil. width the green has I still have one point five mil. left. Also the difference in chain play only varies...
i returned from a ride and noticed coolant coming out of small hole under water pump - i ordered some replacement seals but it has made no difference
is this fixable or has the shaft worn so therefore a good seal impossible
its a 35,000 miler 2001 model 650 TA
i have priced a replacement...
just if anyone is interested, over the winter i changed the complete front end of my TA700 with the USD front end from a 97/00 Aprila pegaso, and it was quite an easy swap, just had to change the bearings on the yoke shaft, modify the top yoke to accept the ignition switch & hiss, and fabricate...
Fancy a project and I know its a long shot but has anyone got an unfinished project or as per title blown engine or worn output shaft and have had enough and what to get rid? I have a few spares and lots of time
Has anyone tried out the kk bike sprokets? I think they look pretty good If you want to avoid shaft wear.
If not I just ordered a superpinion and will report back in about 2 years.
My current sprocket setup is -1 front and +3 in the rear. I like this, but I'd like to get better mileage on the road and I want an OEM 16T front for reduced wear on the shaft. Thinking of changing my chain and go to just +1 in the rear or should I go with the stock 46 tooth rear sprocket?
Without wanting to open myself up to scorn can anyone please tell me what this is?
I think it's an automatic chain oiler but as my St1100 is a shaft drive I've never seen one? I have just picked up a 650V4 Transalp and is on the chain side of the bike but it looks empty- I don't even know where...
Split the cases on 97 XRV750 but now during assembly the rear cylinder cam shaft sprocket timing marks slightly off...could it be off one tooth on lower sprocket, any suggestions? As you can see in attached photo the left side horizontal mark is about a half or quarter tooth below the right...
I currently have a 1990 ish motor (without kickstart) that is in need of a rebuild.
I have found a good 1988 motor.I believe the early motors had different splines on the gearbox shaft.
I am asking because I currently have a 14 tooth sprocket fitted because the motor is in a sidecar that I...
Just changed both sprockets today but the front one (+1 tooth) is slacker on the shaft that the one i took off. As anyone will know who has changed a sprocket the bracket with two bolts to retain the sprocket has to align in the gap on the spline as they do not line up otherwise. Anyone suffered...
I need to remove the two freeze plugs on the crankshaft to clean the oil pipes between the main journals and the crankpins journals.
Diameter of these plug is 11,5mm and height about 5 mm.
Does anyone know where I can order this king of plug ? In France, it's by now impossible ...
Recently rebuilt a 1980 CT125, had high rev misfire, ( similar to "4 stroking") appeared to be due to cam shaft journal wear "bouncing" the points so had bearings made and fitted, still had a misfire which stopped when the advancer was locked, Someone previously had welded the original advancer...
I have a spare transalp 600 engine cluttering up my garage
Output shaft is worn, but all cases etc are nice condition, could make a good donor/project
Collection from Sheffield or I know a reliable courier
Assume gear lever was worn, purchased new one, shaft also worn :( would it be ok to weld for now? I assume it's engine out and strip etc ?
Any other ideas ?
Could I drill through pedal and shaft tap it then add grub screw ?
What options do I have

I have a spare engine for sale
It came with a job lot of parts, I only needed the other parts so this engine is redundant
It has apparently 30k on it, there is some wear on the output shaft, other then that it looks to be in decent condition
Obviously I haven't run it so can comment on its...
