Quick question,,,,,,,,,,,
my 600 TA will roll forwards and allow the sidestand to fold up on the slightest of downhill slopes,
should the stand lock in place somehow?
or do I just have to remember to park her in gear?
I know there are aftermarket feet to enlarge the sidestand footprint, but my foot has disintegrated. Is there some kind off slide on option for a foot or do I nned to get it weelded?

Hi all,
Engine is coming back together, but wasn't sure how to apply sealant to the base gasket. Do I apply any? Both sides? One side? Which side?
They are a metal pressed base gasket.
Thanks,
James
My rear wheel bearing (not sure if both sides or just one) has failed silently and completely. I am waiting for NAF outside Luleaa. Anyone know a workshop in Luleaa that can fix this quickly?
Owner's manual: "Drive chain slack should be adjusted to allow the following vertical movement by hand: 35 - 45 mm.
This movement must be checked with bike on sidestand?
Chain tension, I recall reading somewhere that it should be set 7cm below the swing arm on the sidestand. Is this about right?
Oil level, I presume check this with the bike standing upright.
Hiya, i'm having a problem with the fuel tank creating a vacume and compressing the tank, ive checked the breather hole and pipe and all seems clear but when i undo the petrol cap i can see the sides of the tank popping out. Any ideas whats going on?
Hello! I have raised the TA 650 and need the side stand extended, I can't find the post again by whealiebin. But does anyone know a welder near Kingston Upon Thames? Or anyone I can post it to that can help me out??

In what seems to be the time honoured humourous way of this forum - I wondered if any of you could identify this item?
Please bear with it to the end - IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!!
All those who said chair-

It LOOKS like a chair -
Still looks like a chair - BUT!!!

I have been wanting a trailer to transport some bikes to events, prices are crazy for what they are. Went to local steel merchants and got quoted for 2" x 2" & 4" x 2" box sections it was going to cost £200 for steel alone not including suspension unit and tow hitches light etc. But would still...
this is just for info really - yesterday I fitted a centrestand to my Transalp. The process was very straightforwards - except for fitting the spring. After some trial  and error :blob6:the eventual method adopted was as follows:
1. attach the spring to a trolley-jack securely by...
There seems to be a bit of a consensus that ABS is a "bad thing" when riding off-road but I have to admit can't really understand why. Now I know there may be times when you may wish to lock up the back wheel if going down hill covered in loose stuff and build up a wedge of muck in-front of it...
As a regular lurker and a very very occasional contributor i am leaving the fold, the ALP as gone!
I owned her for 25 months and done 11,700 miles (total 15,400).She as never let me down (punctures excluded).
The ALP was 1year old with 3,700 miles when i bought from Thunder Road Bridgend in...
hi there,
i need to get the barrel off - which means loosening the four 9mm bolts and a few smaller ones on the sides. as i had a bit of bad luck with the bolts on the head and cover (3 of them sheared off) i am a little worried about taking them out especially since it broke the 3/4 to 1/4...
I finished my chainoiler bodge. I put 200 miles on it today and it works surprisingly well. What it ISN'T is pretty. My bike is a 1990 Transalp with many Africa Twin bits. It's like this because the ATs were never imported to cruiser-happy America and poor sods like us have to build our own...
