Afternoon. My first post here.
Just acquired a scruffy 2002 Transalp 650. However, all seems reasonably sound with history etc.
However, clutch seems very heavy, even with new cable. Before I dismantle, any thoughts please?
Perhaps just bunged up with crud from the past 36,000 miles?
My 1994 RD07A is intermittently missing a beat at idle? It does need some carb work and is idleing a little high. But every once in a while it seems to have a little hiccup. There is a mechanical “click” sound then a miss in the RPMs. It’s just for an instant, then returns to normal. This...
I have an RD04 from 1990 with 67000kms on the clock. The last couple of days I have started to notice a scratching sound from the engine when I pull the clutch and let I roll to a traffic light or something.
Everything sounds perfect in neutral and when driving that's why I am worried...
Got the Alp on the road today and I'm already missing the throb from an after market exhasut can fitted to a V-Twin engine. Had a Laser Pro-Duro on my last one and the sound was wonderous :D:thumbup:
So . . . . . anyone got a half decent exhasut can for a 600 alp that they'd be happy to part...
My 2001 AT has 18,000 miles on it. It runs poorly and stumbles and vibrates a lot. Over the winter I think a carb strip and rebuild is in order.
Any thought as to have far should I go?
Fit new jets, gaskets, etc?
Replace diaphragms (if fitted)...
I have this Africa Twin RD07 a -98 model. I bought it like 3 years a go and it had the knocking sound from then. I have replaced the cam chain tensioner and exhaust gaskets. Non off this did help. The sound is only there when driving when the engine get some resistance. When standing...
Hi this is going to sound a stupid question but eh!
I have just got a trail tech vapor speedo.
the red and black wires to attach to the ht lead (tachometer)
surely the red wraps round the ht lead and the black to ground surely?
this is not what i am reading in the download version of the manual...
Recently I started noticing a very high pitched singing/whining noise coming off the AT RD07A, can I can't seems to figure out where is it coming from.
What I do notice is that it only appears above 80km/h - 50 mph and 4.5k RPM. Below that have not heard it. I also tried to pull the...
I was riding my 125 to work today, I stopped at a junction and i started to hear a loud tappetly sound then my engine died.
The engine now will not turn over and is locked. I removed the rear cylinder spark plug and found the end has been broken off, it is bent and has a crack.
I've been looking around quite a lot on this forum, but now it's time to contribute.
I thought you guys would enjoy the video from our Romanian adventure.
Turn up the sound and enjoy!

I am lucky enough to have both the original exhaust and a laser exhaust on my 1995 rd07. They both came with the bike.
I like both, even though I prefer the laser one. But it is loud. Very loud. I suspect that it has been modified at some point. From YouTube I see that there is a piece inside...
This is my first post, however I have been viewing for a few weeks - great forum so far!
I am viewing an '08 transalp with just over 30,000 miles on the clock. It was services at around 24,000 miles according to the service schedule, but hasn't had the 30,000 mile service.
Has anyone ever re-jetted their bike while the carb is still on the bike?
I've got a adjustable Super trap exhaust on my Dommie and I know I can tune to match the carb with that, but I've found a setting that I love the sound of. Not too loud but enough of barrrrrp.
I've just fitted an o2 sensor eliminator, and I have to say the bike really has responded well to it, the fuelling is unbelievably smooth. I was also after a louder soundtrack ( not offensive, just nice & deep ), and was going to fit a decat pipe, leaving the standard silencer. I...
Here is the video of my noisy RD07. I changed camshaft tensioner becouse of this noisy sound, double check valve clearance, check exhaust gasket.
Is this normal sound. Firend of mine said that probably its crankshaft bearings or something with valves....?
I need you opinions before i...
I have recently noticed that my SLR seems to be leaning over further than normal when on the side stand .
When I stand the bike upright and put the side stand out ,If I put my boot under the stand I can lift it up about an inch. ie up and down movement.
This inch makes a big difference to the...
