Hi All, so I just fitted a Givi top deflector, all good so far.
Went for a spin and certainly it works very well, but I found I was getting wind in the chin/neck area,
particularly on right hand side mainly
Out with throttle hand , and it seems to be coming in from the hand guard / brake fluid...
Hi, I haven't been around for a while, having sold the transalp to my brother.
He uses it mostly for touring, and so finds the setup of connector pipe and Leo Vince exhaust a bit loud (but it's great fun for hooning around).
I've reinstalled the original HEAVY! silencer box for him and am now...
just agreed to buy a 97 RD07a with 20k on the clock, needs a bit of tlc and a few things put back to original, but nothing too major. One very happy individual.......deep joy! was great to jump on it today and have a spin around, felt like an old pair of shoes....very comfortable.
Hi all I've been lurking in this forum for a few months, bought an xl700 transalp three weeks ago and enjoying it, living in Welshest Wales helps a lot, went for a spin up the Elan valley yesterday and had great fun despite appalling weather.
Had my 1990 domi back from the mechanic last week with a full service and new MOT ( 1st one since 1993 ) Taxed online and away to go. First spin was over the Cray to Sennybridge for a coffee and then back home through Llandovery. I cruised between 50 and 60 and took her up to 70 briefly and came...
Nothing to do with cold weather!
On the back of the headlight surround on the Dommie there are four nuts set into the plastic, into which the instrument / surround screws go. They're like short brass barrels with a threaded hole, and they're machined / knurled on the outside to help them grip...
I am still having a problem getting my carb set up right.
Jnr arrived today with a couple of plugs for me and I had charged the battery up.
A couple of days ago I put a thinnner washer under the carb needle and screwed the idle jet screw so its only 1.5 turns out.
I took the bike for spin and...
I am trying to remove the flywheel and having problems stopping the flywheel spinning whilst removing the flywhell bolt. The motor is out of the frame for a crank swap.
I have a pair of the long molegrip type clamps that can be used to remove the clutch or flywheel and am locating the...
After a spin over to the Stafford show with my dad resulted in a small interfacing of my @twin with the back of his 1200rt, I figure it's time to look at the brakes and upgrade them, I already have stainless lines to each calliper, the front discs are original and the pads are new ebc organics...
This morning in Georgia I did the chain and my friend took her for a spin. There is no garage able to take the rear wheel off and wrap them. Wondering what my best course of action is?
No man is truly married until he understands every word his wife is NOT saying.
I just finished rebuilding my rear wheel. Whilst off, I thought I'd check the dampers. Was sure they would not need replacing, but thought I might as well check whilst I had the wheel in pieces. They look perfect, but I noticed there was a ton of what looked like white wax inside the hub...
I've just fitted an oil temperature gauge, one of those screw in to replace the dip stick jobs, and went for a spin yesterday to check it out... Air temp was about 10deg C, riding on country roads to begin with temp peaked at about 90deg, then when sitting stuck in town traffic it went up to...
2nd one i've done but this ones for charity, namely Bloodbikes West out here in the west of ireland. they have a bike named after my very special daughter so me and 2 friends said we'd try to put something back.
over 1000 miles in under 24hrs on an africa...
I have no front sprocket on and after servicing the bike stated it up, the bike is in neutral, the neutral light is on, but the shaft was spinning around.
I didn't test to see if any resistance as I didn't want to rip my fingers off.
Is this normal or its it a clutch problem?
I own an XTZ 660 with starter motor problems. I have eliminated the following methodically:
Grounds are good
Power is getting through
Solenoid is good
Starter clutch is good
If I take the starter motor cover off and remove the gears between the starter and the crank, I can turn the starter...
Went for a spin today taking in a few of Wiltshires easy Byways. Ideal big trailie country as its been dry for a while:
One horse at Devizes
Another horse! This time near Milk Hill Pewsey way
Into my fave bluebell wood Westwood near Marlborough
Along the Ridgeway only...
