Out for the day yesterday and saw an RD04 and later on a silver RD07 both in Perthshire, round about Aberfeldy/Kenmore/ Loch Tay - cant remember exactly where. Was it you?
  2. Ride Reports and Pictures
Just as luck would have it the rain started just as I pulled the garage door closed and left on my way to meet Alba near Kelty for a wee ride out today. The plan was to head for the southern banks of Loch Tay keeping to back roads as much as possible and with the exception of four or five miles...

And so it came to pass that “Steve - Billy No Mates” decided to take a ride into the hinter lands that surround Loch Tay and exercise his right to ride his bike when & where he wanted. Eldest son wanted to stretch the legs of his latest ride – a BMW 1150GS with 41lt TT tank fitted, so he came...

All started well with an overcast sky but dry roads. Met up with a man with a big 1150GSA in Aviemore some 50 dry miles later. Then it all got a lot soggy for quite some time. Within 12 miles of leaving Aviemore we were hiding under a road bridge cos the sky had fallen – that’s what it felt...

A little while ago, a few of the boys suggested a 'lads' trip to Scotland to blow the cobwebs away, before the clocks go back & winter sets in..... With a date set, B&Bs booked & route planned, I set off in earnest, on Friday morning. Heading to Alston, meeting Nick at 1pm, the other three had...

Had one of those unexpectedly good rides today, discovering a brilliant road for 'adventure' bikes I'd previously ignored many times (enjoyment possibly intensified by it also being my first head-ache free ride in years; refer_post_40_here). Basic route was up past Knockhill to Glen Devon...

  8. Mechanical Advice
There's been some brief discussion of the two hydraulic motorbike lifts that Makro sells from time to time. One is a scissors style jack, rated to 135kg; the other is a heavier duty parallelogram action, rated to 400kg. I bought the 400kg version today, as I don't yet have a centrestand and...
  9. For Sale / Wanted
As discussed in a previous thread, my RD04 may be up for sale after the bank holiday. Im borrowing the RD07 for the weekend and if I like it the deal will be done on Monday. Anyway - its an RD04 on a K plate - RWB - clock shows just over 30K Bought it from Airwolf a couple of months ago to...
  10. Transalp
Recently went on a weekend tour from Aberdeen with some guys from work. Left on the Saturday going up through Royal Deeside and over the Grampians to Pitlochry in Perthshire. Then Crossed country around Loch Tay travelling on up to Crainlarich and round Lock Lomond to Tarbet. Finally on the...
  11. Mechanical Advice
I need to replace the battery in my Africa Twin (RD07A) and rather than a direct swap with either a Yuasa or Varta one, I'm considering getting the Hawker Odyssey PC310 battery. Has anyone fitted one of these to their Africa Twin - and did you need to alter the main cables at all?
