I love the heated grips on my Vara, but when using the clutch and/or brake lever during the recent cold weather I've noticed how cold my hands can get. Having a little spare time over the weekend, I set to work on a solution. Clearly the levers don't need to be heated when I'm not using them...
  3. Africa Twin
Has anyone any info on covering a part of the radiator to get it up to normal temps? The needle doesnt move at all and you can easily touch the radiator and its hardly warm at all. Mr Honda san doesnt mention it at all but he designed that bike for a toasty desert.:)

Haven't sat on the bike for a week or so, but managed to get out this morning. A run through Pontypool, and over the mountain at Blaenavon, to Abergavenny. The roads were fine, but a lot of ice at the verges, especially over the mountain. I had a coffee in Abergavenny to thaw out, and visited a...

As posted on the HUBB: Now I like my tents and I own two of them (a pitiful number compared to some, I know). However, I've never been tempted to buy more than one at a time. That said, if any of you are suddenly gripped by the urge to buy two tents at once, this offer might be of interest...

  8. Varadero
Hi Everybody, :hello2: Finally got around to fitting my, Hein Gerike heated handlebar Grips last night, very easy apart from trying to hide the massive amount of wires, which Imop should be longer from the controller so they can be moved further away from the steering, wired direct to battery...
  9. Varadero
Sorry guys, but advice on fitting heated grips to my '03 Varadero. I got some Oxford grips off Ebay. The guy selling them reckoned they were the wrong size for his bars. Fitted mine ok, but won't stay on with hairspray!! I read on one of the links here that hairspray would keep them on, but as...

My ill luck with heated grips continues. The first set of Saito grips were replaced because of erratic heat. The second set os Saito grips returned because only 2/3 of the grip heated up. Then purchased a set of Dr Bike grips because J&S the supplier claim they are Oxford Hot Grips with an own...

£37 from winding roads these look simple but are quite feature packed for the money. they are heater filaments sandwiched on a mylar film (like photographic film) with an adhesive back, and you stick them straight onto the bars (its an instant glue, get it right 1st time!) and put the grip of...

I bought a set of these last winter from Aldis and they kept me toasty warm both on the bike and skiing. In fact, I've found them to be better than the Hein Gericke stuff. On sale at Aldis on 27th December: http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/58_4611.htm Sharribee if you're still looking...

Right having got your attention :D. Me, Mabel and MR Mabel rode up to the NEC yesterday. When we arrived Mr Mabel complained his hands were cold even with heated grips and Mabel was just generally freezing. The point is I have fitted the muffs back on my bike and rode with ventilated summer...

Hello i fitted some handlebar muffs to Tizer but found that with the hand protectors the muffs didn't fit right and were tight around the controls, particularly on the left side causing problems with the indicator switch and full beam switch! to fix the problem i undid the stitching on the...

-4C here this morning. First opportunity to give my Gerbings kit a proper shakedown test. I've got the jacket liner (inside a Heine Gericke Voyager jacket), and heated socks. Absolutely excellent - I wasn't merely 'not cold', I was well toasty. The socks are fantastic. I've got one of the dual...
