What makes the Africa Twin keep its value so well ?
Is it really that much better than the Transalp and how close is it to the Varadero.
Is it really worth getting a AT if ine have a TA and a VA ? Or should I be plesed with what i got ?
Hmmmm, 8:30, Artillery Row, SW1, London; spotted black Varadero covered in spaghetti, dripping olive oil, stinking of garlic, and being ridden by a very foreign looking lunatic!!!
Anyone we know on here, I wonder?!?!
HI i have a very nice 1990 g reg DR800S that id like to swap for a fuel injected varadero 04/05 model? It has supermoto wheels and has only done 14,000 miles, great bike but fancy a vara:D.
Would prefer it to be vgc with history, but all bikes considered.

African Twin threatened my existance if I didn't get on this site, so here I am:blob6:
My new Varadero arrives this Thursday - Can't wait.
I.ve never had any experience of one of these bikes but was persuaded by "Chad's" recommendation - Have I done the right thing?
Took the new Versys over to Dartmoor this weekend just to see how she copes with luggage before the Haggis run. I have to say I am really happy with the bike. Very comfy seat and riding position and the handling with luggage is superb. Plenty fast enough for me and 60 kgs lighter than the Vara.
The converts just keep coming for the mighty Varadero. They dont come much bigger than Chad physical size and posting ability !!! the big man himself is now after a varadero
Get ready for a Tsunami of posts in the Varadero section. This place has been quiet for a long time NOT ANYMORE ...
I couldn't find anything in a search, but I've just found the pics of John Killeen's Varadero from the 2003 Manx Grand Prix
His best lap was a 23' 55.2" at 94.64mph average, and his race pace was 1h 35' 41.00"23 at 94.63mph average. He finished in 84th place, beating a 600cc Yamaha and a...
After coming from an RD04 Africa Twin, the Varadero was quite a shock to begin with. First impressions was that it felt a lot softer and not as tight as the Africa a very different feel. It also felt a lot more powerful and more comfortable than the Africa. The engine did not feel quite as...
What have i done !!!! i have just bought a 2000 Blue/Silver XLV 1000 Varadero, i think i may have had the deal of the century £2300 with 4700 genuine miles on the clock, still on original tyres. The bike has been stored in a central heated garage for the last 4 years.
We have now decided to...
