Well its winter again here in northern Germany. Bloody freezing and damp. I have a choice of parking my pristine AT in a damp garage, which I air as much as possible, or under a car port where it will stay dry with no problem with air flow.
The bike gets a coating of moisture in the...
My 2001 AT has 18,000 miles on it. It runs poorly and stumbles and vibrates a lot. Over the winter I think a carb strip and rebuild is in order.
Any thought as to have far should I go?
Fit new jets, gaskets, etc?
Replace diaphragms (if fitted)...
My winter project is coming along nicely and I like it so far
The rear shock at present is from a zx6r but I think it is to soft.
I have seen 3 other shocks I am interested in.
Wilbers ( no preload)
Wilbers more expensive but has a dial( able)setting
I know it's a personal choice but do...

Just tried to post and lost the thread, here goes the second attempt.
Have some good parts to go on
Can this be cleaned up in the frame? I really want to keep the engine in the frame.
Go gentle on me. I'm no expert, basic tools, small space to work in and a tight budget...
Have not been on a decent bike trip in at least 12 years.
Leaving Johannesburg tomorrow for the Lowveld region of Mpumalanga, for 4 days.
Its winter, its raining at the wrong time, quite cool, but we have united some of our old biker group and going.
An old AT(2001), a newish one(2017), a...
just if anyone is interested, over the winter i changed the complete front end of my TA700 with the USD front end from a 97/00 Aprila pegaso, and it was quite an easy swap, just had to change the bearings on the yoke shaft, modify the top yoke to accept the ignition switch & hiss, and fabricate...

For those amongst you that like to have a tinker in the workshop over the cold winter months, how about making a lamp like this one I found on the interweb.
As soon as I get a bit of spare cash, I think I will make a pair of them for myself and jnr as I have some old pistons lying around.;););)...
I will be buying a new pair of tyres over the winter and have always stuck to tourances BUT been looking at maxxis (seem to be a big saving on the metzellers)) has anyone been using them what are they like in the dry/wet, what kind of mileage did you get any advice appreciated.
Well we have gone from this
Frame, yoke, swingarm and wheels all powdercoated. Engine sprayed matt black. Tank stripped and clear lacquered.
I know it wont be to everyone's taste on here, but I am pretty happy with it so far.
There are a few...
The whole bike is now fully restored. Now that I am trying to fit the rear wheel, it looks like the combination of wheel and spacers (one on each side) is 4mm too wide. I really don't know what to think even though I have attempted a dozen times to refit the wheel. Can the trailing have...
This time last year I asked about fitting an oil cooler on my Dommie but got side tracked as I was having clutch and flatside issues and lack of funds to finance an oil cooler.
Anyhoo ,the clutch was replaced and now works as it should and my flatside is dialled in now with the help of our...
HI i LAID MY DOMINATOR UP FOR THE WINTER AND NOW IT WON'T START. BATTERY HAS BEEN ON A TRICKLE CHARGER . CHECKED THE SPARK AND SEEMS OK. WHEN I LOOSEN THE DRAIN SCREW NOTHING COMES OUT. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? THANKS PHIL.
After covering my winter bike with a coating of ACF 50 to keep the crud off, I was wondering what cleaning products would be the best to get the winter muck and grime off.
Its time to clean and service the bike now that winter appears to be over.
Why to wait for the end of the winter if you can ride towards spring?
Here are some pictures of a motorcycle trip to France, Spain and Andorra in March / early April.

Hello from winter Norway!
I have a question regarding the Temp gauge!
When the needle points above the C or at low operating temp, the needle is "quiet" in other words does not moove like crazy up and down! When the temperator rises and the pointer passes the middle of the gauge, it starts to...
