My 1998 TransAlp has decided to stop running! It had been running very rich for a while and now, no go. So as I am skint I am thinking maybe time to cut my losses, what would it be worth? Bike has done 54,000 miles and apart from the starting(or not!) is in fair condition.

I guess it's hard to say, pics might help with a general idea of condition. Fair condition can mean lots of things.

Being skint & cutting your losses is fair enough but the best financial return would be to get it running & running well.
It's a Transalp so is unlikely to be expensive & probably only take time & effort to get it sweet again :)

+1 get it running,

it will double its value

dead alp 0 to £500

live alp £500 to £1000

and as Phil says... it should not be that expensive ,

basic..
sparks to both pots
clean fuel balanced carbs...........

run through the basics

start from the beginning TLC cost nothing:thumbup:

if it burning less than a 1000 cc of oil per 1000 miles its OK by Mr Honda:thumbup:
