Do people still use this? Is it superseded by other stuff?

I guess, I posted recently 'bout ACF, not as a versus against WD40; just a question 'bout efficacy?

Halfords still knock out 3 in 1 cheaply, is that just a little bit of nostalgia for the ol' folks, or is it still viable in this day and age?

BTW you may guess that I haven't biked for a dozen or so years now so feel free to update me on newer oils that are cheap, come in a handy tin and go 'squirt' :)

I got a 5ltr bottle of the stuff from a friend of mine years back , I use it for the cables and smaller part that need lubeing.
It's very good used as a penetrating oil and cleaning off thick old grease , it smells good too

The only one i use at home as a maintainance spray is Wurth 2040 find this very good and it contains teflon so it sticks to things like cable liners
