My missus has just passed her test and requires a 33bhp restrictor kit for her 1993 XL600V Transalp. New they are a bit expensive. Has anyone got one lying around the garage? I would then get a dealer to fit and certify it.

As I understand, the restrictor needen't be an oficial item, as long as the bike is no more than 33 bhp. This can be achieved by limiting max revs or making washers to go into the inlet rubbers between carb's and engine, a dyno run will give proof.

The police have a right to sieze a bike and have a dyno run carried out on a bike they believe to be over 33hp.
