This story has just been posted on the AT Italy website: two of our members have been to Mauritania a few months ago.
The story unfortunately is in Italian (online translator?), but I assure you the trip was amazing.
Two ATs, no backup and the need to find petrol and water daily in the middle of nowhere.
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get any more adventurous than this.

No ban please ;) this is all just fuel for our passion... I would love to have the time and especially the guts to go on a trip like this!

The bikes had extra fuel tanks (15 L) instead of the side panels... not sure about the front fairing on the blue one, maybe from African Queens.
