Has anyone tried the cheap copy fuel filler caps from ebay etc to fit Transalps/ATs & Varas etc.
The ones that look a bit like this..

I have a plan & don't want to bugger my good oe one

Would not recommend these. Had one on a CBR600F The latch binds. More importantly the tank does not breathe properly. It feels like you are have run out of fuel. Happened to me in the Brynglas tunnels M4 rush hour. You can spot this because the key cover tab will pop up. Also I read these can cause a vapor build up. Avoid at all costs.

Hi & thanks for your input, I had pulled the trigger & ordered one before I saw your reply.
Anyway, it arrived this morning & all looks ok, came in an aftermarket bok but has Honda & a key number stamped on the keys!

The quality & operation feels fine from initial check, venting shouldn't be an issue as the TA tank has a breather pipe.
Anyway, it is to modify to see if I can mount a givi tank lock system onto the cap itself.
If it goes tlts up it was only a tenner so not the end of the world.
