Hi guys, just mulling over a route for next yrs Longest day or on it's own. I was thinking of setting off from Edinburgh then crossing over to Ireland and heading to Belfast before turning south and heading to Dublin, then getting the ferry back to the mainland and going to Cardiff and then onto London, a trip of around 1000miles in a 24hr period.

In 2005 I lost my sister to cancer, 2007 my father passed away due to a heartattack, then lost my mother in 2008 with a heartattack.

Just wondering what interest there is in doing such a big run in aid of cancer research / macmillan and the british heart foundation.

An alternative to the route we did would be Edinbirgh - Stranrear-(ferry) Belfast Port- Belfast -Dublin-(ferry)-Holyhead-Cardiff-London

This route is tighter on time but shorter in time too

We travelled further south in Ireland to do the overnight crossing from Rosslare to Fishguard
