hi mate,

How`s the LOT doing, have you checked out these guys have heard pritty good reports and as they are Your side of the water:eek: should be cheaper postage or an excuse for a ride further than the local Bread shop.

They are quite close to Moon so to speak;) as for mounting most people use those round adapters but I`m sure the Frogs could fabricate something up as they are Tight as you know.

High quality Aluminium Panniers on eBay (end time 09-Jul-10 18:47:13 BST)

Aluminium Panniers reinforced with mounting kits, locks on eBay (end time 19-Jun-10 07:35:46 BST)

I think the first are based on the American "Jessie" panniers and have shapped btms:cool: better for the rough not that you go off road on the vara.

Hope to get down in October as long as its not to cold, us English eh never happy either too cold or too hot.

Too many versions of Givi to be able to answer
have you got the flat hoop version or wrap under
if the flat hoop uses an 18mm hoop it should fit, I believe the alpos boxes and mounting kit is sold seperatly so you can fit to suit your height requirements

I reaslised that bastardising a rack for my Project VND panniers from my GS was a no go, so I have settled for a Givi PL131 tubular rack to mount plain boring palstic panniers to my TA600.

They seem very nicely made. You can undo the bottom spigots (name?) that secure the base of the Givi panniers. If you can do the same with the top tab, then you could have a flush fitting tubular rack to which you might mount your Alpos boxes.

You could do so with "U" bolts if you can live without a Quick-Release system...

Nice and cheap...

if you have the flat oval hoops then you can use them, the givi lock plate and studs are removable leaving you with a TTesque rack. i think its 15mm tubes not 18mm, you can get universal mountings or make your own easily enough. i always wonder how TT can charge so much for a plastic disc and a flat bar of mild steel?

I've got givi racks (15mm tubular) and Allit 41ltr boxes, they have 4 pucks attached which hold on to the racks very securely. I'm not sure if the vara givi racks are the same as the AT ones but I feel that they lack a cross brace to stop the whole lot flexing when loaded up, I'm in the process of modding mine (well at least I will be once I get the bike back)
