Can't justify the £100+ that Touratech want for their roadbook, has anyone here done a DIY job and if so any pics?

The funny thing is that's probably a lot lighter and more waterproof than the one on ebay and the more expensive ones. You could probably do one in a similar way and a bit prettier and hook it up to one of those little model electric engines wired into a handlebar switch to control it.

Was thinking of getting some of that to mould a fairing subcowl. Seems like it'd be quite strong as long as you don't spill any hot liquid on it.

This one isn't bad, bolted it on to my Transalp for my Sahara trip, but I have actually used it quite extensivily locally because you can print out directions from the viamichelin website, and feed them straight onto the unit, find it as good, and a lot cheaper than Satnav
