Hi all,

This is my first post, but I read this forum often. Yesterday my town suffered a summer storm with strong wind and heavy rain. Unfortenatly, my Africa RD03, 1989, fell down with the help of the wind. Because Africa was chained to the front wheel, and because of its weight, my contact lock was broken. Can you, please, tell me if I can look for some other locks for my Africa. Can I use locks from some other models?

Look at this scene...:( :(

This is the broken lock...

Thanks all.

I don't know if any other model will fit, the part number is 351000-MS8-610 (see here http://www.xrv.org.uk/media/XRV650K.pdf ) you may be able to get a used one off eBay, especially from Germany, you can get them new from http://www.cmsnl.com/products/35100-ms8-612-switch_35100ms8610/ but they are expensive at 141 euro, you may be able to get them for around half that price from http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts_inquiry.html email them the part number and your location and tell them they were recomended by this site.

Good luck and let us know how you get on ;)

Najzli.. I had to replace the same item on my RD04 two years ago.
After much searching and tracking down I got one from this company in UK.

TE Motorcycle spares
39 Ladysmith Road
Grimsby
NE Lincs
DN32 9EG
Tel: 01472 344211 Fax: 01472 268990
mailto:[email protected]
web: www.te-motorcyclespares.co.uk

The part number for mine was 35100-MY1-007 IGNITION SWITCH XRV750 (Pattern part) The cost then was £74.41 GBP

Good luck ..... PM me if you want to quote my name and customer reference number to help the process... these guys search all over the world for spares and do take a long time to get your parts, but its worth it in the long run....

Coincidentally the same firm I get my chain and sprockets from that fit and last a decent amount of time.
