Placed an order first thing wednesday morning from busters.

I rang first to check items where in stock, told they were, and then tried to place order but he couldnt find me on the system(I have used them loads of times) so said I couldnt place order as my card(uk based bank) didnt match the delivery address and first time orders have to goto card holders address(not a first time order).

So ordered online via paypal and registered (again) whilst in the process. I recieved an email with my login details. I tried to login but it said invalid login, tried over and over but no joy(using the details they supplied).
Tried 'forgotten password' but it said the email address does not exist on their system, even thought they had sent the login details to the email address and the username was also the same email address.

So I gave it 36 hours and rang customer services as I wanted a tracking number to track my goods overseas. I was spoken to by the most obnoxious individual I have ever come across, you know, the type that you want to climb into the phone and pop out the other side and give him a thoroughly good kicking to.

Anyway when I offered my order number his response was, 'sounds like you have done this before' 'arrrggghhhhhhhh'. Anyway he told me the items will not be dispatched for a few days and he will pass onto I.T. my login probs.

I gave it a few hours to cool down and rang back hoping to get someone on the line who may be interested in the customer. Told the same story and his answer was that I would get a tracking number when the items are dispatched. I informed him that it had been more than 36 hours so surely they would have been dispatched. He said no its going to take a few more days as they are moving building. I questioned that it was going to take 5 working days to dispatch my stuff and he said its in the terms and conditions that it will take 7 to 10 days for delivery. I informed him that if it was going to take 5 days to dispatch it wont arrive in Spain within the 10 days. Anyway after 20 mins of trying to convince him that as a customer it is only reasonable that I maybe concerned that I have no order details and customer service are doing their best to avoid any questions.
I was being totally stonewalled by this guy who avoided every question I asked. He then said that it takes 24hours from the online order to be placed and them to receive it. I did my best not to laugh. I explained the virtues of ecommerce to the guy but he said an outside company does it and then send all the orders over the next day. I gave up after asking him if he thought I was stupid.

I then decided to ring sales hoping to get someone 'ok' and cancel the order. I gave the guy my order number and he immediately said 'cancelled', he didnt even have time to type the number in. I asked him if I would be getting an email confirmation and he said he would ask 'them' to send me one. When asked who 'them' are, he said 'another department'. 'But if you cancel it on your system, it should be automatic, shouldn't it?', 'no, I am in a different department'. He then hung up. I have searched for another number to ring to speak to someone who may be able to confirm my order or cancellation of order but cant find any.

So I will make a paypal claim back in 10 days when my goods don't arrive and avoid busters in future. Pity because I have never had any problems with them over the years.

In fairness to Busters (part of M&P), they had a catastrophic fire a year ago,and have been in temporary accommodation since. The new premises opened for the first time on Monday this week (9 July) and there are bound to be some teething problems as stock is moved into the new warehouse.
Doesn't excuse rudeness by the telephone staff, mind!

When you say you never had any luck with them, exactly what have you never had any luck with them about? It sounds a bit vague.

I've had nothing but good service from Busters and M&P - and no, I'm not an employee.

I had a couple of orders for things like brake pads that took WAY longer to arrive than they should have.

But, the straw that broke the camels back was as follows.

I ordered an ignition advancer for my GSX 1400 from M&P that they said on their website they had in stock, when no one else in the country did. I phoned them to ask if they really did have it in stock. Chap on the phone said "YEP!!! Computer says we have that in stock!" To wit, I replied "Can you go and check the shelf before I order it and pay you?" and received the earnest reply "Idon't need to check, I can guarantee you if the computer says this is in stock, it is!"

So, being a gullible idiot, knowing fine well the issues I had with the brake pads, I placed my order on line and paid my money. After repeated phone calls when nothing showed up, finally find out the computer was wrong. "When are you going to get more in?" says I. "Not too long" says he. "Not too long can mean a lot of things" says I. "Well, I'm really not sure" says he. SO, after about 4 weeks, I requested my money back which took 2 weeks to hit my credit card account.

So, in my opinion, rubbish service and more of a "get the orders in and worry about it later" attitude rather than "let's just deal with these chaps honestly" attitude.

I have had excellent service from many other internet suppliers of motorcycle parts, like Sandy Bike Spares, Robinsons Foundry, GetGeared, brake-lines.co.uk, etc and even guys I have had to do everything over the phone with, like Tony Archer.

So, for me, customer service and communication isn't difficult but the M&P mob are hopeless at it. If things go well, nobody knows how crap they are and their prices are sometimes the best. If you don't need or want decent service, just a cheap bit, I highly recommend them. If you care about buying from an organisation that will help you when things go wrong, these aren't the guys.

edit- and this was way before a year ago and the fire mentioned above.

This year I used M&P for the first time in ages. Never again.

Got an email saying my parcel was dispatched. Nothing turned up so I rang em. Long story short, that email means they've dispatched an order to the supplier and it'll turn up whenever. **** all mention of this on the mail.

Also had issues with delivery address. The useless **** said I'd need to speak to their IT dept as they were having issues. Why the **** would I want to speak to his IT ****ers if he's the **** having a problem?

I must say in the past M&P/Busters have been real good , including enclosing FOC some bulbs i meant to order and forgot , when i phoned them and asked iof they could add them to the order they said yes, i asked how much i would send on another paypal payment the guy said dont worry, I ordered a pattern air filter for my Z650 it was cheap enough, they sent a washable K&N, but it sound like things have slipped, funny thing about the fire My son had just returned a faulty scooter tyre, it must have arrived back to them the day before the fire, he got a full refund on the tyre pretty quickly, they had said it would be a few days while they checked the tyre, I think it got burnt somehow , Anyhow i tend to use Wemoto more nowadays
