I want to buy an air filter to bolt onto my carb and was wondering which one would you guys recommend.
I also need to know what jet sizes to use in thee carb because its getting close to the time where I will try and start my project.
Just a few more bits n bobs and then its done.:blob7::blob8::blob7:.

For uncorked/freeflow combo, 50~55 idle jet and 155~160 main jet. See this thread https://4strokes.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23364

Do you still have space for the original airbox?

Those pod type foam filters are good. What type of exhaust are you putting on it?
Photos please :D
This was after I welded and painted it about 18 months ago.

This was from German ebay for €200

I was thinking about foam if I have enough space between the carb and battery.

yes, good point.
I have read elsewhere that the 160 main is awesome.

Bobn uses a 175 main jet with no baffles no baffles.

I'll buy a few sets for mine and test them out when the time comes. See which works best.

As I understand it, the idle jet is important too so that the engine doesn't run too lean at low revs and overheat

I havnt checked how the exhaust sounds and how much it needs baffling.
I havnt opened my exhaust to see whats going inside but it will be fun when I do.
So I reckon further research is required.
I reckon nick in brum knows what I need as hes bin there and dunnit.

Yup! ,nick in brum gave me the info required after checking his old carb for me.
I went with a 170 main jet as a starting point and will take it from there when I have it wired up.
Now I need to find an air filter.
Thanks for the input chaps:D:D:D

standard jets on a uk spec carb are 155 main and 48 pilot ,
the 48 pilot is really a bit lean on a standard bike , probably for emissions purposes , throw on a pod filter and free flowing pipe and the 50 is a better choice

ho ho these guys must be making a killing out of selling 20mm bends. It is impossible to do properly without a tube bender but 40 bucks is a bit steep isn't it?
Maybe a bit steep but its not very often you build yourself a bike is it?
I tried to make one at my local blacksmith shop but we always ended up with a kink in it so I ended up buying mine and making a couple of lugs from a bit of the frame I cut off..
Its worth it in my opinion and I think it finishes the frame off nicely.
