I have recently made a street tracker out out my Honda Xr 400 I have removed the air box and put on a ram air filter I’ve took it to a guy who race tunes bikes to re jet it and he having probs there’s a point when doing around 50 mph the like has a cough a bit like hitting the kill switch but it clears itself has anybody done the same kind of project and did you the same probs please help cheers

If you've stayed with the original carby and its a CV (constant velocity/ constant vacuum) type, you'll run into the issue of the carby being difficult to tune as they depend on the air box to maintain the correct level of vacuum across the rev range. It's probably easier to tune a VM or PW cable pull round slide, CR (race carb with round slide), FCR (race carb with flat slide) carby, the first one will be under US$100, the other 2 will be in the US$300-500 range. Any of these will work well with a pod or ram filter.
