I have bought a brand new centre stand. The spindle is about 0.740 dia. (3/4 " with some clearance). The bike obviously has never had a stand fitted. I have managed to get the off side bracket to accept the spindle but the bracket the other side seems to be a little out of line & there is a "nib " about 1/8 " high partially obstructing the inside dia. It looks as if the brackets are cast steel, welded on. Has anyone else come across this problem before & what did they do to overcome it. It looks as if the bores need line drilling but would a 3/4" drill be available 8 " long which is what it would need to be due to added obstructions at each side. The stand, from what I can see only needs to swivel on the pin. Not the pin swivel in the frame. Therefore, finish in the frame brackets should not be an issue.
