Hello

My indicators work when the ignition is on and also when the motor is turning and in neutral.

As soon as I put it in gear, even with the clutch in, they stop working.

Also, perhaps related;

- the headlight dims when I am driving and the revs pick up
- the neutral gear cut switch (can't start the bike when in gear and clutch pulled) hasn't worked for a while
- when I put a voltmeter across the battery it stays at approx 12v even when reving

Any ideas?

Check the regulator rectifier sounds like its not working, if it has failed you might think about fitting a Mosfet one from a newer bike to avoid any future issues.

Hello
Thanks for the reply and sorry for not back getting sooner. I just checked the quick connects and tightened up the earth connection and all works fine.
I had changed the fork oil not long ago and must have knocked connections that hadn't been touched in decades...
118000 km and going fine - I'm wondering what the first serious failure mechanism is going to be - clutch... hole in piston... or do they just keep on going???

They are pretty reliable as a whole. If your CDI is still original it will probably go at some point.
Which model do you own?
