Although the Honda mechanics agrees with me that my 05 Fi Varadero is running a bit rich, he said there is no way he can reset the ECU. He can put it on diagnostic but that's just telling the current state of the bike.

Can I reset the ECU myself?

The best thing is to ask for the emissions to be tested to see if it passes the latest tests, if not then it has to be reprogrammed and they should do it.

If the bike is running rich, it could also be a faulty sensor somewhere on the bike sending an incorrect signal to the ECU, again your Honda dealer should be able to run a diagnostics test.

I did a system health check in anothor Honda dealer 2 months ago all came out OK. The tech guy there reset the ECU and the bike ran sweet before a joint started blowing.
