I’ve not had this problem, but in the year I’ve owned mine I’ve heard of numerous cases that look just like your problem. It’s not the end of the world so don’t panic. Just corrosion on the terminals in the connector. Don’t know if replacement is available but if you prise it apart and clean everything up you should be able to connect it all back together and wrap the individual wires with insulation tape until you sort out a better fix.
There’s bound to be someone on here has experience of this problem. I’m just offering a get you home fix
