Hi folks,

Interesting hearing about all your bikes and antics!

Just got hold of an old XL250R for fettling.

Thought it might be fun! I'll let you know what happens.

Cheers :thumbright:

Not from Hastings, No!

'tis a bit rusty but not too bad.

Lots of oil coming from the head somewhere.

I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow.

Cheers. :sunny:

Welcome to the forum
Please post some pictures of your new purchase.
The XL 250 used to have cheeses used on the gaskets so if it has been unused for a while that may cause the leak.

'ere 'e iz...

'ere'z the leak...

Seems to be coming from those slot headed screws on either side of the spark plug. Maybe other places to, haven't had a really good shufty yet.

What do you reckon?

That looks like the gasket has gone.
It looks like the rocker head so it should be easy to rectify.
