My 1994 RD07A is intermittently missing a beat at idle? It does need some carb work and is idleing a little high. But every once in a while it seems to have a little hiccup. There is a mechanical “click” sound then a miss in the RPMs. It’s just for an instant, then returns to normal. This happens at stop lights or when just standing at idle. Not on a regular basis. I can’t tell if it happens going down the road?

The “ clicking” sound just as it happens has me thinking this might be a floating valve or something mechanical?

Any idesa?

Hi. There will be more specific advice from someone with more knowledge but I personally would clean my jets, and check valve clearances (the won’t have moved ? ) but worth a check. Check coils and sparks aswell. It could be one of those things where you’ll sort it by doing a few things but not quite know which one fixed it ?

Mine also had that type of hiccups. I richened the idle mixture a tad (I have a remus Revo muffler though) . Bike idles at 1200rpm smoothly now. No more hiccups.

I'm woundering if it could be that a plug is misfiring or a plug wire is arcing out?
