Mark, I have some questions about the discount we have been offered

Is the offer for returns only?

Is there a discount for a single?

Is the return open ended, or is next day return etc.?

Just to check we are getting what we want

I ask about the single, as i will more than likely return via ferry from amsterdam to newcastle. I worked out it would cost me more traveling to amsterdam etc then back to calias, then riding up england, so i the ferry option appeals more to me. I believe this could be an option for all the scots and north east english riders

We will be unable to transport your vehicle if it is capable of running on flammable gas. Campervans and other recreational vehicles which have LPG

From this I read it that the price is per bike, not number of people

Eurotunnel only appear to charge per vehicle not per person. When I travelled in the summer I only booked the bike in, they didn't want to know about pillions even though I took one.

Thanks for the info Mike.

Guys The deadline for the Eurotunnel discount is the 16th Nov, if we can get 30 riders to pay up, they will extend the deadline for another month, so others can still benefit. As a rider I would be pissed off if I found out that I could have got a ticket half price, but no one told me. After the second deadline they will still offer a discount but I am guessing it wont be as much. What do we want to do ?

Before you ask, I have gone back and asked what is stopping a rider paying for a return, but not using it, I know how your minds work !

This just in :-

Hello Mark,
I have double checked and the £29.00 fare for a single is correct.

Our tickets have varying degrees of flexibility and this flexibility is linked to the fare. For example, our long stay tickets are valid for a return journey of five days of more and the return leg of the journey must be completed within one year. One step down from this ticket is a short stay ticket. This ticket type is valid for up to five calendar days. As this offers less flexibility than our long stay ticket, the price is lower.

The day return fares carry strict Terms and Conditions and, again, this is reflected in the price. Essentially, the more restrictions that are imposed on a ticket, the easier it is for us to monitor the available space on our shuttles and the cheaper the ticket becomes.

In reply to your question about the usage of a day/overnight return as a single, it is part of the ticket terms and conditions that failure to complete both the outward and return journeys in respect of a return booking will invalidate your booking and in the event that you complete only one journey in respect of a return booking, you will be liable to pay the difference between the price that you paid for your return booking and the single fare applicable at the time that your journey was made.

The long and short of it is, you are liable to be invoiced for the difference between the ticket used and the single that should have been used.

This also :-

Hello Mark,

No problems; its easier to get it all sorted now so your passing out accurate information.

Our departures are at 10 minutes and 50 minutes passed each hour in both directions. The booked times must be adhered to and check-in is 1 hour before. Our fares are different depending upon the time of travel however, for your group, my colleague Marie agreed a set fare regardless of the travel times.

That is my understanding. Basically they are saying that despite the change in the cost of the fares during the day, we can go on any train we want for the all in price.
thats good then it covers all, fast and slow riders :thumb:
