just for fun, how many towns with food named after them can we think of, and after a week i'll plot them on the gps and see if theres a viable tour taking in my two favourite pastimes, eating drinking and riding. hang on thats three, eating drinking riding and.......hang on, thats four. you get the drift.

Well I'll be!!! Lived about 6 miles from Goosnargh for over 20 years and never heard of Goosnargh cakes. Duck, yes, cakes never. I am going to have try one now, and one from goosnargh itself too.

Goosnargh cakes originated in the village of Goosnargh in Lancashire - one of those English placenames which you just have to say out loud for the pleasure of saying it. Goosnargh cakes are in fact type of shortbread or shortcake, so are actually a form of biscuit.
