Been a bit busy : built a garden shed/summerhouse - now full of bits of my AT In the foreground is my AT frame ! - waiting to go to powdercoat - hopefully next week
Forks cleaned, lowers cleaned and de-greased waiting to be painted. African Queens extension tubes fitted plus new clean 10w fork oil added:
Motor mostly de-greased with valve covers painted. - rest of engine waiting to be painted - the original finish hasnt put up a very good fight (but internally it looks barely run in)
Amazing what some degreaser and a lick of paint can do : (spring is from a crf 450 - its slightly larger internal diameter and about 2 cm longer - not sure if it will work well with the AT, but i'll give it a go):
Only came up against a couple of problems so far - the bolt that holds the lower shock to the swingarm linkage was snapped clean thru - glad i haddent been off roading the bike !
The idle screw on the carbs was also snapped clean off - had to drill what was left out and managed to get another screw in - not the right one, but it works.
Also the AT motor is bloody heavy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So hopefully frame and swingarm coated in next couple of weeks, then i can start getting her back together.
PLUS thanks to CHAD for previous tips about using PJ1 paint - ITS THE DOGS
Catch ya'll later
