Am heading North next Friday morning, Shropshire up to either Stoke or A49 towards Manchester, then a drone up the M6. Anyone else heading thataway in the morning want some company?

Also, if anyone is heading North and needs a place to rest up or summat,we are more than happy to see you. We are tight on a spare bed at the mo, but we do have acres of land for a tent and can find a bowl of stale cornflakes for brekkie!

Myself and Ffion are planning on leaving Runcorn at midday (have to put half days work in), up the M6 to Carnforth then taking a route past Windermere and onto Ullswater over the pass. Then joining back up with the M6 in the North Lakes for the short hop across the border. Anyone welcome to join if they dont fancy the full M6 trip. Will be calling in at a boozer in the lakes for some grub.

Hi steve, I have got Stanbloke and Tramp staying at mine on Thursday. You are welcome to join us if you can get away on Thursday. It would seem I have 2 spare beds that night as both sons are away.

We will be leaving here at about 10ish so could meet you somewhere on the M6 - Lancaster south services or further north. My plan is just to whizz up the M6 then A75 to Crocketford the onto the campsite. About 2.5 to 3 hours from mine with no stops.

Anyone else can join en- route somewhere just let us know where you will be at what time.

I'll be at Todhills Rest Area, 'bout 11.15am Friday, on the left just after junction 44 M6, north of Carlisle, there's a Shell garage too. Failing that I'll see you at the campsite.

Is it booked under your name Austin or XRV? I'm assuming there's a distant corner on the site for us all to put our tents up together rather than being spread out all over the site.

Don't want to get over excited but the long range forecast is for good weather next weekend

I expect all 4 seasons rolled into one as we are over the border in scotland.

Cheers Austin, that's kind of you. I suspect I am going to be pushing it to be away Thursday, sadly. If it looks as if I can get away a day early, I will drop you a line ASAP.

I could do an early morning run up on the Friday, but I suspect not... far too early and I will need to check and feed/water the pheasants before I leave that morning

The campsite is booked in my name and if you arrive first do find a nice big corner. They are expecting 25 tents and expecting a shanty village to pop up. Oh and I also warned them one or two of you like a drink and a late night.

Oh and if anyone has the time and wants to take the scenic route turn off the A75 and hug the coast all the way to Castle Douglas. Fantastic.

Rightyo, I'll wait then seeing as you're calling in, I'm not in any hurry. But if I'm not there don't wait coz I'm on nights Thursday, I finish at 9.00 so should be OK, unless a major disaster occurrs in west Cumbria.

The coast road is a trip in itself, maybe do that on the way back, then there's no rush, you can follow the coast all the way to Gretna missing the A75 completely then pick up the M6 home.
