Hi mate,

dont know if you are aware but welding on the ta650 with the battery and rectifier connected ..burns the electrical stuff out..so be warned..

the side stand is easy to remove but give the area a good degrease first and just prop bike against something..extend the side stand to undo the bolt from behind but dont brake the side stand switch, then as the stand is flicked up it comes away easily..

Is there no welders down the marina`s..

I've got a special surge protector that i attach to the battery. You can never be too careful when welding on vehicals. I use it on cars, bikes and plant machinery. Expensive bit of kit but well worth having. Cheers

Hello hotwire, I can post you the sidestand. Here is what I am trying to do, the eighth post on the page with the nut / locking nut combo as it might go higher yet... Let me know what you think, shouldn't take long to do???

Tramp: Yeah there probably are but they are all closed on a weekend so hard to find someone and no time during the week....

Only question is who is hotwire? Got a bike? What is it?

to answer your question, i had a custom bike i built myself. I cut an orig frame up and added my own sub frame. I put custom billet yokes from up graded forks that i made to fit. The body work was all custom including front and rear lights. The engine was modified for better perfomance, the exhaust was one off. It only needed paint which i didn't get chance to do as i had to sell her. Not by choice. All the work was done by myself. At the mo i don't have a bike so i get my fix by helping people with their projects or welding fabrication needs. Does this answer the question about who is Hotwire welding services

Oh Tramp: forgot to mention, have bypassed and removed the switch in case off roading triggers it at an interesting moment :)

Hi Dogwheel.

side stand is very easy to remove ..no skind nuckles etc..

with bike on side stand undo from behind the small "grease covered nut" then remove the sidestand switch carefull like..then prop bike against a tree, wall etc leaning away from side stand and undo the bolt from outside..then push side stand up..closed position and the spring just unclips with no tension..

replacement is the reverse...some long nose pliers are helpfull and a good degrease before..but not necessary.

Jez..time for me to learn something..ha ha how did you bypass the sidestand switch..not that it catches on the trails but if it aint there it cant do that..
