I saw your forums from Google searches, so I signed up and thought that I'd post a Hello.

I've had an AT for a week, passed on to me from being sort of a stalled project via a mate of a mate.

The clutch was I think the last job started so that's my first job to pick up, the kit's OK, needs setting up, torqueing and tweaking.

It's a K plate, the frame and engine serials mark it as a RD04 'M' 1991 according to Haynes? The Exide may or may not be good to go and the front rim is a bit blistered, mostly around the valve.

I guess, a couple of other bits and bobs that I've seen are in need of some TLC; I'm using a mate's garage and have my regular set of do-most-jobs-apart-from-specialist tools, but only have an hour or so in the evenings and double that at weekends for tinkering...

I'm aiming to get the AT roadworthy just in time for the cold, rainy weather ;)

Hi Si and welcome to the forum.

Don't forget to take the camera down to the garage and get some pics.

Plenty of info on here for rebuilding and fettling - dive in and enjoy :D

Welcome

The front rims are a nightmare on these babies, best way forward is to re lace new spokes at fit a new rim.
Saying that, my rim was cracked in several places, but the metal is quite thick. Even so, get a new rim

Hi, Si. Get her fixed up and tidy just in time for our National rally in September and you'll get a chance to meet many of us and make friends. This site is awesome, and you'll learn all you ever needed to know about the AT here (but not from me ).

Thanks for the welcome :)

Work in progress and I have no electric supply to the garage so I'll be utilising kitchen sink mechanics...

Of course, I'll leave the sink as clean and tidy as I found it ;)
